There will be days during the year when your solar system doesn't receive sufficient energy from the sun to provide all the hot water you need. Edwards gives you the option to have either an in tank electric element booster or gas in-line continuous flow Edwards Solar Hot Waterboosting unit. Depending on your requirements and location you have the choice of two proven high performing collector panels. If for example, your home is situated in a temperate or tropical zone, the Edwards Australis Series 2 collector is for you. If however, you live in a cooler climate, or, have heavier hot water usage, then the Titan Series 2 collector may be more suitable. Your local Edwards dealer will recommend which model will perform best for your requirements.

GTS Series 2 – The All Climate Solution

The benefit of this "indirect" heat exchange process is that the system can be used confidently in frost areas, without risking damage to the system; it offers protection against freeze damage in conditions of down to minus 18 degrees Celsius.

The Edwards GTS Series 2 system is equally suited for areas with poor water quality because instead of using water, which can form calcium deposits in the collectors and connecting pipe work, the glycol heat transfer fluid helps ensure that the heat exchange circuit is kept clean, maintaining peak performance for the life of the system.

Heat Pump

Innovation and new technology go hand-in-hand with the remarkable Edwards Heat Pump. Its like a solar water heater without solar collectors. In fact it operates like a refrigerator only in reverse; transferring the heat in the surrounding air to the stored water. The Edwards Heat Pump's use of refrigeration technology makes it extremely efficient using approximately one third the energy of a conventional electric water heater. In somewhat of a revolution in the water heating industry, the Edwards Heat Pump heats the stored water from the top down, in a single pass through the heat exchanger. This means that when you turn the hot tap on, the Edwards Heat Pump is delivering hot water at the set temperature right away. This top down heating contributes to the Edwards Heat Pumps rapid recovery.

The Edwards Heat Pump's stylish design is sleek, modern and unobtrusive. The Heat Pump is more effective in warmer climates, and is equipped with a fully automatic electric booster to provide a continuous supply of hot water for the cooler climates.
